Quooker’s story started in 1970. Rotterdam-born Founder Henri Peteri was working at Unilever in the 1970s as part of the development team that invented instant soup. He believed that waiting for the kettle to boil meant that the soup was not truly instant. Born from his exasperation of waiting was the gem of an idea, instant boiling water, on tap. Peteri left Unilever and worked tirelessly in his basement to engineer a tap that could dispense instant, true 100 °C water. Yet it wasn’t until the early 1990s that the first Quooker tap was ready to be commercially launched in the Netherlands. 

Now, Quooker produces over 200,000 Quookers a year, there are over 1 million in use throughout Europe and the UK.

A Quooker Scale Control R starter kit.

The Scale Control R is designed to extend the lifespan of your Quooker tank, it is the most reliable de-scaler for Quooker systems and improves the taste of water in hard water areas. The Scale Control R consists of a connection set and a cartridge, once the cartridge is saturated, the system will give an audible signal so you know to order a replacement cartridge. The lifespan of a Scale Control R cartridge will vary depending on water hardness and usage but on average you can expect it to last 18 to 24 months.

Please note, empty Scale Control R cartridges remain the property of Quooker and can be returned free of charge.  Replacement cartridges are to be ordered from the Quooker Webshop who will send you a return label once a replacement order has been placed. Used cartridges will be refurbishes, recycled and reused to reduce waste.
